The Collections Trend report shows how each machine's collections have changed over
time. Pick a location and a date range and you get one line chart per machine,
so you can spot upward trends, declining machines, or seasonal patterns at a glance.
Selecting a Date Range
Use the From and To date pickers to set the window
you want to look at. Both pickers show
red dots on dates that have collection
entries for the selected location, so you can quickly anchor your range to real
collection days.
Changing the location auto-submits the report immediately. After changing dates,
click Run Report to refresh the charts.
Reading the Charts
Each machine gets its own panel with a line chart plotting collection weight in
grams on the Y axis and collection dates on the X axis. The line color matches
the machine's type color set in Machine Types.
- Hover over any point to see the exact weight and date in a tooltip.
- Only active machines currently assigned to the selected location
are shown -- machines that have been moved away or deactivated are excluded.
- Bill-only machines are excluded -- they have no coin weight to chart.
Coins & Bills Machines
Machines that collect both coins and bills show two lines on the
same chart:
- A solid colored line for coin weight (grams) on the left Y axis.
- A dashed red line for bill count on the right Y axis.
A legend appears above the chart when two lines are present so you can tell them apart.
Summary Stats
Below each chart, a stats row shows:
- Collections -- how many entries fall within the selected date range.
- Min / Max / Avg -- the lowest, highest, and average collection weight across those entries.
- Overall -- the percentage change from the first entry to the last entry in the range, color-coded green (up), red (down), or gray (flat).
Quick Tips
- A wider date range gives a better picture of long-term trends. A tighter range is useful for comparing recent collections.
- If a machine shows only one data point, there is only one collection entry in the selected range -- the chart will show a single dot instead of a line.
- If no charts appear, there are no coin machine entries for the selected location and date range.
